We know, everybody has a cell phone capable of capturing some pretty amazing photos…but, if you happen to have a higher end camera, we urge you to bring it along for the ride to truly capture the incredible sights you will see.


What kinds of packages do you have?

There are endless ballooning possibilities with Soaring Sports. You may choose a romantic private ride, or a shared balloon flight with friends and family. You can rent a balloon to make your festival or any other type of event truly remarkable, or you can participate in a ballooning festival. We can even book you a weekend getaway in a bed and breakfast, complete with balloon ride. How are pilots certified?

It takes a long time and many rigorous tests to become a commercial balloon pilot, one who can take passengers into the air. All our pilots are well trained and experienced, so you can rest assured that you’re in the best hands while drifting above the treetops.

What’s the maximum altitude a balloon can fly?

The actual altitude your balloon will take you depends on weather and wind conditions. Most balloon rides take place between 1,000 and 3,000 feet above the ground.

What are the preparations for a balloon ride?

When you arrive at your launch location, first you get to witness how your balloon is inflated. This is a truly interesting and remarkable sight. It takes about 30 minutes to fully inflate the balloon. Then, the crew performs the usual security checks and then your balloon is ready to take you into the sky!

How long is a balloon ride?

Balloons fly the easiest when the air is relatively cool, which is usually before sunrise or at sunset. These times of day usually provide the best wind conditions for ballooning. Also, they are the most spectacular hours to be up in the sky. Don’t worry, the sight you’ll see is worth getting up for!

It depends on weather and wind conditions of the day. Most balloon rides last for about 45-60 minutes. Add to that the ground preparations and the farewell activities. We recommend you reserve about 3-4 hours for the entire ballooning experience.

How many people can ride in one basket?

That depends on the size of the basket. Soaring Sports works with various basket sizes. The larges one can hold up to 16 people and the pilot. We also have 12, 10, 8, and 4-person balloon baskets. We usually choose the one that comfortably holds all the people who reserved a balloon ride for that day.
