Georgia’s major Halloween-themed hot air balloon festival, Owl-O-Ween 2018 in Kennesaw, GA, is set to take place for its sixth year. People will dress up in costume and over 20 balloons will take to the skies. An attendance of over 50,000 people is expected for the hot air balloon festival.
Owl-O-Ween 2018 in Kennesaw, GA will take place from Thursday, October 19 to Friday, October 20. The hot air balloon festival will take place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday. At the festival, there will be a “costume showdown“.
On their website, it states, “Owl-O-Ween is located on the 88 acres of Kennesaw State’s Sports + Entertainment Park“.
The hot air balloon festival will feature hot air balloon glows, trick-or-treating, tethered balloon rides, costume showdowns, various food and drink options, live entertainment, and a kid’s zone.
Tethered balloon rides are $15, with the weather permitting.
Tickets for Owl-O-Ween 2018 in Kennesaw, GA are now on sale. Adult general admission tickets are $14 each and children general admission are (from the ages of 3 to 12) $6. Three different tiers of parking are also available. Shuttle parking is $10, walk able parking is $15, and premium parking is $20.
The hot air balloon festival will boast seven different stages. The festival’s website does not say what bands are playing on any of the stages, only stating, “2018 schedule coming soon“.
Reviews on Facebook of Owl-O-Ween indicate hot air balloons were grounded due to weather for at least part of the hot air balloon festival in 2017. According to an October 28, 2017, Facebook post from Owl-O-Ween, vouchers were given out for tickets sold online and it encouraged people who paid at the gate to send an email. The post stated, “Due to unfavorable weather conditions and for the safety of our guests, we are unable to inflate the balloons tonight“.
Predicted attendance for Owl-O-Ween 2018 in Kennesaw, GA – going off of last year’s numbers and previous year’s attendances – are projected to be over 50,000. The hot air balloon festival will also feature adult beverages: German, craft, and domestic beers, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
According to The Sentinel, last year’s festival partnered with Georgia’s Make a Wish Foundation chapter. Last year funds from the hot air balloon festival contributed to over 750 children who were waiting for their wish.
